‘Inclusive Art’

August 17th - September 2nd 2006

Artists from the Berryburn Centre, Lakeview Hospital, will be exhibiting their work at gordon gallery from August 18th to September 2nd and the exhibition will be opened by Lorna Hastings, Director of Artscare Northern-Ireland.


The artists, supported by resident artists, have produced pieces of art using a range of media and techniques including, silk, acrylic, printing, ceramics, felt making, stencilling, appliqué, batik and watercolour.


 Art in Healthcare has proven that it can lead to increased communication skills, improved life quality, heightened self esteem and promote dexterity and sensory functioning. Many of the artists will be available to discuss their appreciation of art at the exhibition and the personal benefits that they have experienced.

Foyle Trust are delighted to again work in collaboration with Foyle Trust Artscare and gordon gallery to deliver this prestigious event and anticipate that this can only support the drive to include adults with learning disability into all aspects of ordinary community living.
